3 updates in one week??
WOW I am really on top of things!
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick little post about one of my favorite photographers, Albert Watson. He has shot lots of different subjects including lots of fashion photography and magazine colors. His work is so exquisite, yet I find he is not as talked about as the other masters in his field- Meisel, Demarchelier, Leibovitz... I was first introduced to Albert Watson's photography at a museum in Edinburgh, Scotland. I think the thing that struck me most about it was his range. Albert Watson has shot everything from Vegas strippers to Jack Nicholson to Kate Moss to Moroccan farmers, some highly stylized or in black and white and some very simple and clean.

This is probably my favorite Albert Watson photo, but they are all worth looking at.

More Paris...
I always am so bad about updating. I've been sick since last Friday. Yesterday, I was sent home from classes with a fever, but I am feeling a little better. I should be up and running again soon. I've spent the past few days ingesting lots of fluids and watching Mad Men. I am becoming obsessed! On a more exciting note, it is getting chilly here in New York and I have been able to break out my Fall clothes.
Just a little inspiration for my Paris wardrobe!
From the Sartorialist:

Carine Roitfeld, of course:

That infamous Reality Show shoot from Vogue Paris August 2008:

I will post more inspo in the coming weeks, but I don't like posting huge lists all at once. One of these days I will learn how to create inspiration boards, haha.
In other news, how major are these Fryes? I've been eying them for months! If only I could walk in them...They seem much too high for me!

Au Revoir, les Etats-Unis!

That's right, lovely readers, I am spending Spring 2010 in Paris. I am thrilled to have such an incredible opportunity and am practically counting down the days till I get to go. I am already starting to plan my wardrobe as I will have limited packing space and need to save room for the shopping I plan on doing while I am abroad! Since it would be close to impossible to match Parisians' incredible style, I am thinking that a wardrobe of basics peppered with a few great accessories and good jewelry is the way to go. Don't want to bring anything too trendy or that will peg me as an American (ie: my beloved blue flannel shirt). Anyway, I will update some more soon!
xoxo,
Simone Renee

Outfit
I tried putting my mirror back up and failed, but managed to get an outfit picture on my laptop.
I went to a friend's housewarming (apartment warming?) party on the LES last night. It was tons of fun despite the fact that leaving today (slept on my friend's couch, haha) was a disaster and I arrived home a soggy mess!
Anyway, here is what I had planned on wearing:

Men's flannel shirt, Banana Republic belt, Old Navy black skinny jeans, Frye shoes
I ended up switching the flannel for a black slouchy tee and purple Tibetan prayer scarf... thought the flannel might get too warm in a tiny apartment.
I hope everyone else had a fun weekend!
